Day-1 Pickup & visit Nedumkayam rain forests

Nedumkayam rainforest forms a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and is one of the best places to visit. One of the beautiful and dense forests in Kerala with splendid variety of flora and fauna this area is ideal for trekking. The forest area is also home to the oldest teak plantation in the world, dating back to 1840's and spreading across a gigantic area of 2.3 hectares. Elephants are a major feature of the jungle area and an elephant taming camp is also situated here. One of the main attractions in the forest is the wooden rest house built during the colonial period. This wooden rest house offers a panoramic view of the animals, particularly elephants and deer grazing in the forest. Entry fee:

Day-1 Cannolly's plot and teak museum (stay@Kakkadampoyil)

Conolly’s Plot in Nilambur, Kerala, is one of the oldest man-made teak plantations in the world, named after H. V. Conolly, who was the district collector of Malabar during the British rule in India. Nilambur Teak Plantation is situated on the banks of Chaliyar River, the fourth largest river in Kerala which originates in the Western Ghats range at Elambalari Hills, Wayanad. Teak Museum which is known to be the first Museum for teak in the world. Here, one can find the large stump of a 480-year-old teak tree brought You can also observe the various methods of seed-grading, pre-sowing treatment, preparation of teak stumps, vegetative propagation of teak and the different stages in the complete rotation cycle of teak from seed to mature tree. Thusharagiri water falls is a scenic waterfall located in Kozhikode district of Kerala, India. This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Malabar region and also one of the best places to visit in Kozhikode.  Entry fee

Day-2 Vanaparvom bio-diversity park

Vanaparvam Biodiversity park is in Kozhikode district of Kerala state, which is spread over an area about 112 acres. The park is rich with the variety species of plants is about more than 2300. This biodiversity park is home to around 150 species of herbal plants, 23 species of bamboo saplings and 20 orchid varieties. you can walk through a natural forest area, enjoying the beauty of a butterfly garden, orchidariums and grab your favourite saplings from a nursery; all under a single roof. Day-2 Kakkad eco tourism center (stay@Wayanad)

Kakkad is 45 Km away from Kozhikode in Kozhikode district. You can enjoy a little trekking and a beautiful stream in the middle of the forest. It is nature lover’s paradise as this is prime spot of variety of birds, animals, butterflies and have a wide variety of medicinal plants also. A small park is arranged for both children and adults to enjoy. The forest is rich with trees and shrubs. Several waterfalls and small lakes make Kakkad favourite for the travellers. Entry fee:

Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, is a sanctuary and Elephant Reserve in Wayanad district of Kerala. An area of 344,44 sq.km. with full of tuskers,creepers,colour ful birdies butterflies and the jeep safari at the sanctuary offers splendid opportunities to spot various animal and bird species in their natural habitat.
