Sringeri also called Sri Kshetra Shringeri is a hill town and Taluk headquarters is located on the banks of river Tunga in Chikkamagaluru district in the Indian state of Karnataka. The town is also known as Sringeri Sharda Peetham and it has a 1200 year- old temple located here. Sringeri is well known as a learning center due to the many temples and maths. The name of Sringeri is derived from Rishyashringa-giri which is a nearby hill and is believed to have contained the rich heritage of Rishi Vibhandaka and his son Rishyashringa. Sringeri holds significance in Karnataka due to the first matha, which was established by Adi Shankaracharya. The first of the four peetha was established here.

Day-3 Belur

Belur, is located in Hassan district in the state of Karnataka, The town is renowned for its Chennakeshava Temple, one of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture. It was the early capital of the Hoysala kings in 11th-century and remained a second capital through the 14th-century. The city was so esteemed by the Hoysalas that it is referred to as "earthly Vaikuntha" (Vishnu's abode) and "dakshina Varanasi" (southern holy city of Hindus) in later inscriptions.

Day-3 Halebeedu (stay@Sringeri/Halebid)

Halebidu (Halebeedu,Halebid) is a town located in Hassan District, Karnataka, India. Halebidu was the regal capital of the Hoysala Empire in the 12th century. It is home to some of the best examples of Hoysala architecture. Most notable are the ornate Hoysaleshwara and Kedareshwara temples. Hoysaleswara Temple is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in Halebidu. The construction of the temple began in the 12th century by the King of Hoysala. This temple was then looted in the 14th century and it fell into ruins after that. The temple, which was once a symbol of luxury, remains a historic monument today.

Day-4 Bylakuppai (stay@Bylakuppai)

Bylakuppe , The second largest Tibetan settlement in India after the holy Dharamshala, is located in Coorg district in Karnataka state . Bylakuppe comprises of two Tibetan refugee settlements that were setup in 1961 and 1969 respectively and has now grown into a full-fledged town housing the largest Tibetan population outside of Dharamsala in India. Bylakuppe’s attractions include the Sera Monastery and the Namdroling Monastery, also known as the Golden Temple. Here we see evidence of the Tibetan people's willingness to defend their way of life, faith and identity.

Day-5 Somnathapura visit

Somanathapura, also spelled Somanathpur, Somnathpur, or Somanathpura, is a town located in Mysore district in the state of Karnataka. The Chennakesava Temple located at Somanathapura is one of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture. The temple was built by Soma, a Dandanayaka (lit, "commander") in 1268 C.E. under Hoysala king Narasimha III. It has been also nominated for the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day-5 Sreerangapatna (stay@Mysore)

Srirangapatna is a town of Mandya district in the Indian State of Karnataka. Sri Ranganathswami temple, dedicated to lord Vishnu is the major attractions in the town. This temple is one of the largest of its kind and well known vaishnavite pilgrim centere. It was once the capital of Mysore under Tipu Sultan. The Vijayanagara Empire in its prime, Srirangapatna was a confluence of trade and culture. There are many heritage sights to see in and around Srirangapatna and connoisseurs of history, culture, and architecture never miss this trip when in Karnataka.
