Thekkady Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the best wildlife sanctuaries in India, is located in Thekkady in Idukki district of Kerala. It is one of the most famous Tourist places in kerala and also a well known summer getaway in Kerala state. Thekkady is also known as one of the scenic Kerala Backwater trips in Periyar lake. The early morning ride in the boat within the sanctuary is an extremely awesome experience and you might be able to spot wild elephants, bisons, wild boars, various kinds of birds, etc. The Periyar forests of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India. Endangered species including the Nilgiri Tahr and Lion-tailed macaque are often sighted at the outskirts of Gavi. Kerala’s very own treasure elephants can be sighted abundantly. The Munroe Island, also known as Mundrothuruthu, is a picturesque and magnificent inland island in the district of Kollam, Kerala.
